Meet the Team - Jake Usher

If you want to get to know the faces behind our software, we suggest you keep reading! We will introduce you to our team for you to get to know what they do and their responsibilities.

First up is our Multimedia Specialist…

Jake holds a Multimedia Computing Degree from Staffordshire University and has extensive knowledge in all things creative. Aside from creating in-house assets for our digital estate, Jake also designs all marketing material that you may have seen. Every video, email, social media post and website content you see, will have Jake’s creative input.

Before we reveal all, let’s find out more from the man himself:

So, Jake, you’re the in-house Multimedia Specialist - what does that entail?

Well!… I’m pretty sure I see it as about making sure everything Timeline puts out as a company is produced as well as it possibly could be. These can be HUGE entities like website feel, branding, social posts, to the tiniest of things like how colour can affect how somethings portrayed. That, and being told to ‘make this look pretty’… this happens a lot!

What does a typical day look like for you?

So, I try to do all the ‘creative’ work in the mornings, when the ideas are still hammered in my head from the dreamscape that is the journey to work. The rest of the day is merely implementing those ideas while working with my creative partner in crime, (*drum role*) Sophie Cooper.

What has been your most significant achievement since you joined Timeline?

I guess there’s sort of two parts to this answer. I do vividly remember when we released ‘Version 2’ of Timeline, and the amount of buzz received and all-round good vibes on its release. But I’m constantly reminded every day of how much Timeline as a company has evolved. It’s a little crazy that just over a year ago it was three of us in a tiny room with only one developer. NOW… we have a solid development process going on, with all well-rounded teams. Every day seems like a significant achievement. Crying? No! I have something in both of my eyes…

What’s the best bit about your job?

I LOVE the variety it has! One day you’ll be trying to work out why somethings just ‘miraculously’ broken, to producing online content, to branding a (slightly mad) themed report. It’s.Never.Boring!

What was the last thing that made you laugh out loud

I heard an absolute mad ‘humblebrag’ on the train this week,

“Just arrived back from Dubai, my 4th holiday this year. Don’t get me wrong, the place is fine, just a little too hot for my liking. However, sunburn brings out my abs.”

Go, home mate…

Three words that describe you best

Man… this is a hard one! Laid-back, humble & focused.

If you could travel to any destination in the world, where would it be?

There are so many places, so hard to choose. It changes regularly; however, as of right now, New Orleans. One of the many music states in the USA.
